WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR?

What is the meaning of life?… Why does mankind exist?…. To what end or purpose? Why am I here? Have you ever asked yourself these questions? If you have, you are not alone. We all have tried to rationalize our existence at one time or another. It has actually become a timeless query. Throughout the ages man has sought the answer. Theory after countless theory… Ideal after ideal…Religion after religion…Lifestyle after lifestyle. My inquisitive self spent many years in this search. I wandered down many trails, trying to find truth in my experiences. It just wasn’t there. It wasn’t in the solitude of wilderness life… It wasn’t in the hectic corporate scramble and neon-lit streets. I sought it through throngs of philosophers, through idealists. I put on optimism…pessimism…fatalism…materialism. I skipped through a broad range of lifestyles and emotions but never found the truth. It was at the end of one of those dead-end trails that I finally stopped. I was disillusioned, discouraged and confused. Nothing made sense. All my efforts seemed in vain. Then it finally dawned on me. Truth has no physical entity and cannot be found in life’s tangibles but must be sought out in the spiritual realm.

What is truth?…God is truth. God is Spirit. Man was made by God for God. That is the truth. One must understand that completely, or else life will not make sense at all. As no two human beings are created alike, so it is also with God’s purpose for us. To find your individual purpose in God you must seek Him yourself for the answer. A friend can’t do it for you. A minister can’t do it for you. Your family can’t do it for you. Joining a religion or cult won’t do it. In this arena you are on your own with God. So have faith in God.

The truth is…God is the sovereign King of all heaven and earth. He is the Creator of all things. He is perfect and Holy. He controls all principalities, powers, nations, and He is over all world governments. The fate of the world, the earth and all creation is in His hands. He rules in the affairs of all men and women. Sometimes it is hard for us as mortal, physical humans to understand the completeness of God, but nevertheless our inability to comprehend such does not in any way decrease God’s deity. Some try to approach the Creator of all life with their works and self-righteousness. How absurd… What could the greatest of us do to even minutely impress God? Our own goodness means nothing to Him. You must completely lose yourself and approach Him in humility and sincerity. God can work with those of a contrite spirit. Seek Him diligently. Pursue Him. God finds delight in those persons who wish to come into an intimate relationship with Him. Everything in this world will at one point fail you…But God never fails. He will be your ultimate friend. Put your trust in Him

There are no other Gods. He is the One and Only. It couldn’t get any simpler. He is a great God, full of grace, longsuffering and mercy. God has an outline for you to follow in order for you to fulfill His purpose in you and ultimately inherit eternal life in Him. He is the Way the Truth and the Life. Firstly, though, we must understand that He is, and will reward them that search after Him with all their hearts. Begin to praise Him for all that He is. Open the bible and study His Word. You are not here by accident! God has a purpose for you… He wants to mirror Himself through you!
