KJV John
8:34-36
Jesus
answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever
committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth
not in the house forever but the Son abideth forever: If the
Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
God’s ways are not the ways of mankind. Every time that I begin to search into this area I become more and more intrigued in the mystery of Godliness. All power in heaven and earth are vested in the Name of God, yet He exalts His Word above His name. His Word never fails. His Word is eternal life. His Word is forever settled in Heaven. Many times throughout the written Word, God has instructed mankind to obey His statutes and commandments. As God lives eternally through His word then it can only be that we, created in His likeness and image will surely find eternal life through His Word. To fully believe in and obey the Word of God is the fullest _expression of love that we can return to God. If we love Him we will keep His commandments. God’s Word became flesh and dwelt among men in Jesus Christ. The Spirit of the Almighty God gave Him power over the flesh and He did not sin. He was living proof that through the Holy Spirit our flesh and it’s desires could be defeated. An unwise servant is expendable…a wise servile son becomes an heir. Jesus was the firstborn of the sons and if we pattern ourselves after Him we will find freedom from our flesh and everlasting life. God has always desired oneness from mankind…not a dictatorial alliance but one of free choice. Oneness with God is to be as He is. What a complex creation the human race is. The soul and spirit housed in a body of flesh. Why were we created that way? What was God’s purpose? In our flesh it is impossible to please God. The flesh has no desire to please God. All desires of our fleshly man are completely contrary to what God is. Our flesh will captivate us, bind us and imprison us. Our flesh cannot obey God or be subject to unto His laws and commandments. Disobedience to God’s Word is sin…sin condemns…condemnation leads to degradation and death. To follow after the flesh dulls the mind into thinking that instinctiveness is righteousness. The mind then is steeped in carnality. The carnal mind is enmity towards God. The carnal mind will worship itself…the creation more than the creator. Back to the Garden…deceived by Satan…Adam and Eve chose to follow after the desires of the flesh. They would be as Gods! They were above God’s commandment! They knew that God wanted them to be as He was, yet they allowed themselves to succumb to the flesh and try do it all on their own. They could be gods without God! Their mind became enslaved in their flesh. Why then would God have created a fleshly man in His own image? Why did He robe man in the sensual…to be able to analyze and reason…and be dictated to by his senses? No it wasn’t a cruel joke. Man is the only form of creation that was made with the ability to choose…the ability to change the course of nature. He was given more than just instinct. God wanted mankind to see what He had made and purposed for them, and choose Him. To become one with Him and assume their rightful place. To become immortal as He is. He could have created man as a puppet but a puppet cannot love you back. Mankind had to be created to choose. We must choose whom we will serve. Will we serve God and follow His Word, or will we choose to serve ourselves? Jesus stated that man cannot serve God and the world at the same time. No man can serve two masters. Our soul will either be enslaved by the desires of the flesh or will freely serve God. God will give us the desires of our heart. How great is God’s love. God loves us with the same passion that He desires that we would love Him …with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. He desires to be our God and we must desire to be His people. God is faithful to His Word and loves us with the same integrity. He loves us as He loves Himself. It is not the will of God that any man perishes…His love will not allow Him….It cannot be our will that any man perishes…Our love will not allow us. Desire to become one with God. The soul that serves sin will surely die. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead will quicken this mortal body when it dwells within us. That same Spirit will bring to pass our adoption as sons of God. That same Spirit will make us free. That same Spirit will give us power to mortify the deeds of our bodies that we no longer serve the flesh but will serve our Salvation. Unless we have the indwelling of the Spirit of the Almighty God we cannot defeat the flesh and it will rule us and alienate us from God. The devil will deceive you and that deception will rule your fleshy man and your desires will be sinful not seeking after the righteousness of God. Success is to not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit. Disrobe your soul of the flesh and clothe yourself in the righteousness of God. Be renewed in your mind. Our fleshly desires have no dwelling place in God’s kingdom. The Kingdom of heaven is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Eat from the tree of life. Drink from the river of life. Flourish in His Garden. Related Scripture:
