HELL OR THE GARDEN |

How could a loving God send us to Hell? I have had this question posed to me so many times throughout the last few years. The truth is…God does not send us to Hell…we chose to go there ourselves. What is Hell? The Word of God depicts Hell as a place of torment, anguish, an abode of wickedness and evil. Hell will be cast into an everlasting fire that burns, yet does not consume. Living in sin is living in darkness…Hell is the outer darkness…as far as man’s body, soul and spirit can be forever alienated from God. Hell is the final blow to all pride, self-exaltation and disobedience. Hell is where the reality of the sovereign Kingship of God becomes so very real…where He is seen for what He is…yet His pardon and forgiveness is forever unattainable. Hell is the final destination of all reprobate regrets. God promised that the whole of the body would be cast into Hell. The torment and fire will be seen…it will be felt… it will be tasted…the stench will be smelled…the cries of anguish will be heard…the bodily senses will forever imprison the soul and spirit in a tortured demonic eternity. Lost…forever in darkness. Jesus... the Christ…the anointed one…came to save that which was lost. He was a light shining in the darkness and spiritual death in the lives of mankind. Man had lost his way…wandering in spiritual darkness since the expulsion from the Garden of Eden where God promised man death. It was there, He made the promise to Eve that through her lineage would man find his way back into the Garden. God’s promises never fail. Now through the truth of the Almighty God…mankind could find the way again…the way to eternal life. God created man to live forever…in the garden was the tree of life. In order for man to eat of the tree of life, he must reside in the garden. He must want above all things to walk in the cool of the evening in the Garden with God as Adam did. He must desire that close intimate relationship with God…to become one with God The now mortal man must become immortal. Instead of destroying man, God repented of His anger, humbled Himself and forgave us. In place of revenge…was meekness. He broke His own retaliatory spirit…became contrite and took on our burdens…felt our infirmities…our sicknesses… and bore all our sorrows. The omnipotent God…the very beginning of all life, would now walk the whole way with man. God cannot die but through the flesh and emotions of the man Jesus He would feel what all men since Adam had felt…the taste of sin and death. The very curse that He inflicted upon man, He would now experience Himself in order to bring redemption. God is spirit and has no physical form. God had never known sin...Yet He knew that through His power man could overcome sin as it was impossible for any man to come above his sinful nature through his own means. Jesus walked the world in innocence. When tempted He did not sin. He continually humbled Himself and valued far above anything the world had to offer, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of the Almighty God. As long as He did not sin against God He would be eternally alive and not die as Adam did. The foreknowledge of God was again perfect…He had made the right choice. The man Christ Jesus sold out to Him completely and became our perfect example. Satan, disguised as the serpent in the Garden of Eden would now lose his power over man. Jesus would tread on and bruise the head of the serpent. From Abel, Adams son, to Christ all sins were atoned for through the sacrifice of an unblemished lamb. The blood…the life of the lamb had to be shed. Jesus became our sacrifice…the final unblemished lamb… the blood, His life…shed on the Cross. He remained unblemished by sin…for me…for you. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. We must die to ourselves as He did. We must be inhabited by and become one with God and enter into the garden, His kingdom. Through Christ, Satan’s kingdom has been destroyed. Satan’s end will be the Hell that Jesus taught about. Yes…there truly is the kingdom of Heaven to gain and a Very real Hell to shun.
