CLEAN AND CLOTHED

by Dale Simmons 11/30/2005

Water since the first of time has been associated with cleanliness. It is impossible to become clean without it. In today’s market there are many soaps, cleansing agents and compounds. They themselves will loosen and dislodge the dirt and oils from our skin but if not rinsed off with water, they just become another form of uncleanness. A long hot shower…a languishing soak in a tub…a dive off the bank into a glacier fed river…whatever the method, only water, and water alone can fully clean the body. Water is the only substance that can purge the body thoroughly from the inside also. All advocates of health will stand behind me on that one. Want great looking skin? Drink more water. Want to flush toxins from your system? Drink more water. Also without water there would be no life upon the earth. It would be an uninhabitable wasteland.

The children run back in the house after a full day in the dirt pile. Their faces are dirty, sweat streaked, their hands and arms filthy. Mom finally catches up with them. She goes to the sink and puts about an inch of water in a bowl. She lines them all up, dips her fingers in the bowl and sprinkles a few drops of water over their foreheads. Boy do they feel better! Now they are clean…ready for the dinner table…ready to snuggle in their clean white sheets. NOT!!! The true scenario would be that she would run a tub full of water and each child would have to scrub and soak in order to get clean. Our sin stained bodies must also be immersed in water in order to effect cleanliness. A few sprinkles just won’t do the job. We must ask forgiveness for our sins, and repent of them. Repentance means to turn away from. We must then be immersed and baptized in water to wash them away. Is that all there is to it? No it goes far deeper than that.

The Name of Jesus is the only name that can remit our sins. There is no salvation found in any other name. It is the Name of God. All power throughout all heaven and earth are vested in that Name. For this reason it is a commandment of God that we are baptized in the Name of Jesus. Jesus is the name of our Heavenly Father…Jesus is the name of the Christ, the only begotten Son, the first born of the brethren…Jesus is the name of the Holy Ghost, the spirit of the Almighty God that gives us power over sin. We all become one in Christ as He was also one with the Father. This is the new birth! Of a truth we were humanly fathered in the natural but our natural father cannot give us power over sin. Only the indwelling of God, our heavenly Father can do that. We must be born again. God is spirit Our new birth is a spiritual birth. The man Christ Jesus became the final sacrifice. He shed His blood on the cross for the atonement of the sins of the whole world. No longer would the blood of animals or any other man have to be shed to atone for sin. His blood covered the sin of all humanity. When we are baptized into Jesus’ name, we are symbolically baptized into His death…it is our death to sin…where the carnal man is immersed in the cleansing water and is brought back up reborn spiritually. We do not have to physically die as He did. He did that for us. When the sword pierced His side, out of it flowed water and blood. We are baptized into His death where the water cleanses us and His blood covers us. We cannot approach God unless we are covered in the blood of Jesus. Without that covering God will not accept us. Our own righteousness will not be enough. We must be covered in His blood and cloaked in His righteousness…the righteousness that kept the man Christ Jesus from sin…the righteousness that kept the man Christ Jesus humble to the cross …the righteousness that overcame death, hell and the grave when He rose alive from the tomb, changed from mortal to immortal…the righteousness that changed the physical body to the metaphysical. The man Christ Jesus was the righteousness of God... He was birthed by the Spirit of God. We must be birthed by the Spirit of God also.

If you have not been baptized in the Name of Jesus by immersion in water then you truly have not been baptized. Only His name can remit your sin. God’s children are a people called by His name. The Name of Jesus…God has become our salvation! As Lucifer deceived himself and in turn deceived Adam and Eve, do not let anyone that preaches any other message than salvation in the Name of Jesus deceive you. Deception brought death in the Garden and the same deception will keep you from being reborn spiritually and you will, without a doubt die in your trespasses and sins. Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ will save us. We believe He was God’s Word made flesh…we believe He was God manifested in fleshly man…we believe He was the final sacrifice for the sin of man…we believe that as He died for our sin, we must die to our sin…we believe He was born of the spirit and we must be also…we believe His sacrifice and humbleness seated Him at the right hand of God in power, where we will be, should we believe and obey. Believing is obedience. Too bad Adam and Eve did not believe God. How different things would have been. The prince of this world blinded their spiritual eyes…don’t let the same thing happen to you.
